Push back against Trump initiatives that would gut EPA and progress on climate.
Be a leading voice that explains what Trump initiatives would mean for NC.
Refight offshore drilling
Assist in movement building work - recruit for April 29th People’s Climate March.
Support/Influence Gov. Roy Cooper
Work to support DEQ’s enforcement and strengthening of environmental regulations.
Create a state clean energy plan.
Revive the Climate Change Commission that used to exist
Promote transit and clean transportation
Ensure comprehensive coal ash cleanup
Protect major drinking water supplies & ensure compliance with Clean Water Act
Oppose coastal hardening and address sea-level rise issues.
Advance Clean Energy
Advance solar and wind power in NC
Ignite rooftop solar and community solar (with a focus on making these accessible for low to moderate income households).
Protect Amazon Wind - Onshore wind.
Promote Kitty Hawk Lease - Offshore wind.
Advocate for Volkswagen settlement funds to be used for electric vehicle infrastructure & support electrification of the transportation sector overall.
Coordinate when National Sierra Club will take the lead
The Chapter and Groups will coordinate and work effectively with the Beyond Coal and Dirty Fuels campaigns.
Expand training resources for Groups and activists.
Welcome and engage new volunteers and train leaders.
